My Butterfly

By: Craig A. M. Goines

Surrounded by problems that hold me down, they tend to keep me wearing a frown. When there's no one around, just the thought of friends. What used to be that is no more. How I cared for someone and spoke no words. Just thought, I love my butterfly.

It's beautiful in more than one way, and lusts for life from day to day. Holding me up when things didn't go my way. My butterfly, so beautiful you are to me.

Locked in my life I let it free, in hopes that it will return to me. I worry sometimes if it's doing ok. I even take time at night to pray. That one day my butterfly will come back my way.

Its wings of black with a hot pink design, and a wing span of about 4 inches. It always managed to keep a smile on my face. Now it's hard to make it sometimes through the day. So I think, what butterfly my might say.

How its wings would rest upon my heart. How it would follow me sometimes during the day. I miss, I love you butterfly. I pray and hope you'll come back my way. My butterfly.
