Secret Love

By: Craig A. M. Goines

I stare at you sitting there with nothing to do. I can’t help but to wonder and think about you.

I like your hair, your smile and your personality. I like you for you and that’s how it should be. I’m too afraid to tell you in person anyway. Because then you might look at me differently every day.

I like the look in your eyes that I can’t seem to explain. Sometime I tend to let it drive me insane. Or get to the point where it brings me pain.

Then again I don’t want to lose you as a friend. I’ll miss your smile and secret notes we sometimes send.

It might not seem like it but you are my secret love. I do really like you but you’ll remain a secret love. Because it wouldn’t be a secret if I told you how I feel. Besides having a secret love in a way helps my heart heal.

So still, a secret love you’ll remain. Even though it brings me heartache and pain. The same pain lets me know that I’m still sane. But with secret love comes secret pain.
